Crane Stabilizer Pads Using Steel Landing Mats

Crane Stabilizer Pads
Many industries today use landing mats for different uses. One particular example in the construction industry is its ability as stabilizing crane mats or crane pads. Utilizing steel landing mats for crane stabilizer pads is a win-win situation for a number of applications. Crane stabilizer pads, crane pads, and crane mats are all terms used for this application. Landing mats are made from steel with high manganese content and are therefore highly resistant to corrosion from construction and crane use. This makes them a far better option for crane stabilizer mats or pads then wood or some of the new plastics. The sizing of the pads can be customized to fit your needs with a simple flame torch.
Using landing mats for walking crane pads is a long term problem solver. If you need to permanently lock a group of steel landing mats in place, this can easily be done. To link the mats, they are locked together with two to three 1′ by 2″ flat straps welded into place. The mats will still flex when picked up, but if locked in place with the straps, they will remain assembled. A strap with a flexible eyelet is added to the crane pads for ease of loading and unloading. These two modifications expedite the unloading, installation, and recovery of the landing mats.
